A major encounter between police and Naxals in Gumla district of Jharkhand has resulted in the death of three individuals, including a key commander of the Jharkhand Janmukti Parishad (JJMP). The incident occurred in the Lava Daag forest under Ghaghra police station. Acting on specific intelligence about the movement of JJMP’s sub-zonal commander, Dilip Lohra, a joint operation was conducted by the Gumla, Bishunpur, and Ghaghra police, along with the Jharkhand Jaguar. During the operation, a fierce gun battle erupted, leading to the neutralization of Lohra and two other Naxals. Security forces recovered an AK-47, two INSAS rifles, and a substantial cache of ammunition. This operation is part of the ongoing effort to eliminate Naxal activities in the state. This encounter comes shortly after a similar incident in Bokaro district, where security forces eliminated two Naxals.
