In a recent cabinet meeting, the Jharkhand state government made a significant decision to enhance police patrolling by purchasing new vehicles. A total of 1255 four-wheelers and 1697 two-wheelers will be procured for use across various police stations. Along with this key decision, the cabinet also approved several other important matters. The third monsoon session of the Sixth Vidhan Sabha will commence on August 1 and continue until August 7, with five working days scheduled. The cabinet gave its approval to this schedule.
The cabinet decided to procure Mahindra Bolero vehicles and TVS Apache motorcycles. The total cost for these vehicles is estimated to be ₹146,796,384.90. The cost per Mahindra Bolero will be ₹959,000, and the cost per TVS Apache will be ₹114,563. The purchase will be completed over two financial years. The decision to buy new vehicles was made because of the deteriorated condition of the existing fleet; the current fleet includes 1079 four-wheelers and 1133 two-wheelers that are beyond repair.
In addition to the vehicle purchase, the cabinet addressed other matters, including an increase in dearness allowance for state government employees and pensioners. Other approved projects involved amendments to guidelines for district planning and the approval of infrastructure development projects. The cabinet also made decisions on personnel, including disciplinary measures and appointments. Additionally, the cabinet addressed the National Pension Scheme, medical expense reimbursements, and other operational and regulatory issues.
