In a ceremony held at the secretariat सभागार, Jharkhand’s Chief Minister, Hemant Soren, distributed appointment letters to newly appointed teachers, assistant professors, and lab assistants. Additionally, he honored students who excelled in the 10th and 12th-grade exams from JAC, CBSE, ICSE, and the CM School of Excellence, alongside successful students from the Akanksha Coaching program. The Chief Minister affirmed the government’s commitment to establishing a distinct identity for Jharkhand in education. He emphasized the impact of several steps taken, highlighting how the positive outcomes encourage improvements in the education system. The aim is to elevate education standards. The Chief Minister mentioned the importance of collective responsibility for the state’s progress. He stressed the government’s ongoing efforts to bolster the education system through existing and forthcoming initiatives aimed at comprehensive excellence, providing schools with resources and ensuring students receive a modern education. A key announcement was the co-educational transition of Netarhat Residential School, including girls’ enrollment. The government plans to open three more schools modeled after Netarhat, now affiliated with CBSE and offering English-medium instruction, aiming to bridge the gap between government and private schools. The Chief Minister discussed the growing competition, acknowledging past challenges faced by government schools. He highlighted the government’s efforts to improve these schools, like the Chief Minister’s Excellence Schools. Enrollment in these schools is highly competitive, demonstrating that government schools are now comparable to their private counterparts. The government also supports students through various incentives. Top-performing students from all boards receive financial rewards along with laptops and mobile phones. The Chief Minister ensured that honorariums for board toppers would be provided immediately after results are announced to facilitate their continued education. He symbolically presented appointment letters to a selection of the newly hired teachers, assistant professors, and lab assistants. High-achieving students from JAC, CBSE, and ICSE received financial awards, laptops, and smartphones, with JAC board toppers also receiving scooters. Toppers from the CM School of Excellence were also recognized. Schools with perfect results in the 10th-grade exams were awarded, and successful students from the Akanksha Coaching program were honored, along with schools recognized under the School Accreditation Scheme. The event was attended by several state officials.
