The rainfall is attributed to a low-pressure system situated over the south-eastern Bay of Bengal and neighboring regions, along with eastern Bihar and its surroundings, leading to rain across Jharkhand. On September 16th, the north-western and central parts of the state are likely to experience heavy rainfall in certain locations.
The weather department also anticipates thunderstorms, strong winds (30-40 kmph), and lightning strikes in select areas of the state. For September 17th, the northern and nearby central regions might witness thunderstorms, strong winds (30-40 kmph), and lightning. On September 18th, heavy rainfall is expected in some areas of the north-western and north-central regions of Jharkhand, coupled with strong winds (30-40 kmph) and a chance of lightning.
In the last 24 hours, Dumka recorded the highest rainfall at 152 millimeters. Ranchi received 40.8 mm of rainfall.
