Jharkhand Minister Irfan Ansari has demanded that Shibu Soren, the founder of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, be posthumously awarded the Bharat Ratna. Soren, who passed away on August 4th, is remembered by Ansari as a true revolutionary and champion of the poor. Ansari, while paying his respects to the late leader, emphasized Soren’s pivotal role in the lives of the people and his contributions to the state. Soren had been hospitalized since June 19th, and succumbed to his illness at the age of 81. Ansari expressed that the absence of Dishom Guru is a significant loss, impacting Jharkhand. He expressed the family’s commitment to facing current challenges with determination. Ansari further requested the President to consider the Bharat Ratna for Soren, emphasizing his connection to the masses. He called upon the government to recognize Soren’s efforts in fighting for the underprivileged and his impact on the marginalized communities.
