The Jharkhand High Court has initiated proceedings related to a Public Interest Litigation concerning RIMS, the premier government hospital in the state. The court bench, led by Chief Justice MS Ramachandra Rao and Justice Rajesh Shankar, reviewed the PIL that addresses concerns about patient treatment and infrastructural amenities at RIMS. The court has directed the state government, RIMS, and the Jharkhand Building Corporation to provide responses, seeking details on the expenditure of allocated funds, the purchase of medical equipment, and tender procedures. In a related development, the Additional Medical Superintendent of RIMS has written to the department, advocating for the implementation of the revised daily duty allowance for the home guards. If approved, the home guards will receive a daily allowance of ₹1088, up from the current ₹500.
