A recent inspection at the Jamua Community Health Center in Giridih district has revealed significant administrative lapses and a critical lack of medical personnel. The center, already struggling with a deficit of qualified MBBS doctors, relies heavily on CHOs to provide essential healthcare services. The recent absence of a lab technician has further exacerbated these issues.
Records indicate three lab technicians are employed, but on Thursday, December 4th, only two reported for duty. Nishant Kumar, one of the technicians, was not present, and crucially, had not informed the hospital administration of his absence, according to hospital sources. This lack of communication is a direct breach of protocol and reflects poorly on the management and staff. Dr. Kuldeep Tirkey, the medical in-charge, acknowledged the technician’s absence and the absence of any formal leave application. The recurring problems of missing doctors, inadequate medicine supply, and now the arbitrary absence of a lab technician at the Jamua facility paint a grim picture of the public health system, despite government assurances of improvement.
