The wall, located in the rear of the GST revenue collection office, which is one of the essential government offices in Hazaribagh city, gave way.
The collapse happened while it was raining. It’s reported that the wall was quite old and in a state of disrepair. Furthermore, no maintenance had been done on the boundary wall for a long time. The bricks and plaster are now falling off the collapsed wall.
The relevant authorities have notified the Ranchi headquarters about the wall’s collapse. The notification mentioned that the pre-existing boundary wall was very dilapidated. The dilapidated wall collapsed due to the initial rainfall. The collapse has increased the safety risk in the State-Tax Bhawan compound. Several old vehicles are parked there.
There is a demand for repair or reconstruction of the wall. Various items loaded in vehicles that were caught by officers during checking are parked in the premises for safety. The collapse has made the storage of these items and other materials unsafe.
