Hazaribagh buzzed with spiritual energy on Wednesday as thousands of devotees converged at the Narsingh Sthan temple, a popular pilgrimage site situated near Barkagaon Road. The devotees participated in ritualistic bathing and prayers, culminating in seeking the divine blessings of Lord Narsingh. The temple grounds were abuzz with activity from the early hours of the morning, with crowds forming by 3 AM.
This year’s Kartik Purnima celebration at the Narsingh Sthan was particularly vibrant, drawing pilgrims from various districts eager to partake in the holy rituals and the associated fair. A robust security arrangement was in place to manage the large gathering, comprising 15 magistrates, 100 police officers (both men and women), and 10 senior police officials. The Superintendent of Police, Anjani Anjan, was among the attendees, offering prayers and seeking guidance from Lord Narsingh.
Public figures, including Congress leader Munna Singh and Sadar MLA Pradeep Prasad, were also present at the temple, joining devotees in worship. To ensure a seamless experience, the temple management organized separate queues for men and women, allowing everyone to offer their prayers and have darshan in an organized manner.
A significant attraction at the fair was the abundant availability and sale of sugarcane. Visitors enjoyed the festive atmosphere and made purchases of fresh sugarcane. The Narsingh Sthan is revered for its unique collection of idols representing the ten avatars of Lord Vishnu, along with shrines to Goddess Kali and Lakshmi Narayan, making it a significant religious hub.
