Chief Minister Shri Hemant Soren formally inaugurated the 4th SAFF Senior Athletics Championship-2025 organized at Birsa Munda Football Stadium, Morabadi today. On this occasion, Chief Minister Shri Hemant Soren said that it is a matter of pride and honor for our state that Jharkhand has got the opportunity to host the 4th SAFF Senior Athletics Championship-2025 after a long time. Athletes from various South Asian countries (India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal, and Sri Lanka) are participating in this event. The successful organization of this championship will further enhance the prestige of the state on an international level.
Jharkhand’s players have brought glory to the country on the international stage
Chief Minister Shri Hemant Soren said that enthusiasm and dedication towards sports are visible among the youth of Jharkhand. The players from here have brought laurels to the state at the international level in various sports including cricket, hockey, archery, and many others. The Chief Minister said that today we are all present here at the opening ceremony of the 4th SAFF Senior Athletics Championship. The youth of Jharkhand are also very interested in the field of athletics. He said that to witness the best performance of all participating players from the country in this championship, we should be present in the stadium and boost their morale. The Chief Minister expressed full confidence that our players will enhance the glory of Jharkhand and the country through their excellent performance in this championship as well.
Sports competitions will continue to be organized in the state
Chief Minister Shri Hemant Soren said that Jharkhand state heartily welcomes the players from Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal, and Sri Lanka participating in this championship. He said that on the occasion of the inauguration today, the artists here have welcomed and felicitated all these players with Jharkhand’s rich art, culture, and folk dances. The Chief Minister said that our government is continuously striving to organize such sports events in the coming days as well. In an enthusiastic atmosphere today, the youth of our state are present in the stadium encouraging the players. The Chief Minister expressed his gratitude to all the participating players and the Athletics Federation in this championship. The Chief Minister said that the grand organization of this championship is possible due to the better coordination between the Athletics Federation and the state government.
Infrastructure will be utilized better for the overall development of sports
Chief Minister said that better infrastructure is established in the state for the overall development of sports, and the state government is committed to organizing such sports competitions in the future by better utilizing this infrastructure. On this occasion, the Chief Minister extended his best wishes to everyone.
