The 4th Jharkhand State Taekwondo Championship concluded with a triumphant victory for Godda district. Athletes from Godda delivered a stellar performance throughout the three-day competition, amassing an impressive haul of 16 gold, 19 silver, and 8 bronze medals. This outstanding medal count propelled Godda to the coveted overall championship title.
Deoghar district secured the runner-up position, earning 8 gold, 7 silver, and 12 bronze medals. Notable performances were also seen from Hazaribagh (10 gold, 1 silver, 1 bronze), Dhanbad (7 gold, 1 silver, 1 bronze), East Singhbhum (4 gold, 4 silver, 2 bronze), Chatra (4 gold, 3 silver, 4 bronze), Ranchi (4 gold, 2 silver), and Bokaro (5 gold, 1 silver).
Around 250 taekwondo practitioners from all corners of Jharkhand participated in this significant state-level event. The closing ceremony, graced by Jharkhand Taekwondo Association Secretary Neeraj Kumar, saw the awarding of medals and certificates to the medalists. Kumar highlighted how sports build character, instilling confidence and promoting physical well-being. He praised the young athletes for their dedication and the competitive environment fostered by the championship. Spectators were treated to thrilling displays of martial arts skill, with participants demonstrating impressive strikes and technical mastery. Many prominent figures in the taekwondo community attended the successful event.
