In Dumka, Jharkhand, a heinous crime has come to light, where a minor girl was gang-raped by five men. The incident happened when the girl went to meet her boyfriend near the Gumra bridge in the Kathikund area. The boyfriend is employed as a cleaner on a coal-carrying truck. The truck was en route from a coal mine in the Pakur district. While the couple was together, they were confronted by a group of five men who questioned them. Police responded swiftly, arresting all five perpetrators. They have been booked under the POCSO Act and other severe charges. An investigation is underway, and the girl has been sent for a medical evaluation. This incident follows a previous gang-rape case in Dumka from March 2024, involving a Spanish woman who was attacked in the Hansdiha area while on a motorcycle world tour. That case also led to the arrest of eight individuals, highlighting the severity of the issue in the region.
