Tragedy struck on the Khunti-Simdega highway near Pokla village as an early morning road accident resulted in the deaths of two dedicated Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers and members of the Baba Amreshwar Dham Management Committee. The mishap occurred at approximately 4:30 AM on Thursday while the group was en route back from the Ramrekha Mela in Simdega. Five others were injured in the collision and subsequently admitted to RIMS in Ranchi. Local authorities confirmed the identities of the deceased as Anuj Kumar Manjhi and Shivdutt Manjhi. Among the injured, four individuals – Prabhash Manjhi, Amit Mahto, Chandru Ram, and Sunil Kumar – were transferred to RIMS for advanced medical care, while Ranjit Mahto received initial treatment and was released from Khunti Hospital. Police took possession of the bodies for post-mortem examination and are proceeding with the necessary legal procedures. The loss has been deeply mourned by colleagues within the BJP and the management committee, who offered their condolences to the grieving families and wished for solace.
