The check dam situated near Pahad Toli village in the Karra block suffered a breach on Sunday following two days of torrential rain. The collapse has led to significant damage to the agricultural fields of numerous farmers in Pahad Toli village, ruining their crops. According to affected farmers, the contractor responsible for building the check dam failed to construct the guard wall correctly. This inadequacy is believed to be the reason for the check dam’s inability to withstand the water’s powerful flow. Furthermore, it has been stated that the check dam was constructed at an inappropriate site. The farmers of Pahad Toli are appealing to the administration to probe the irregularities in the construction of the check dam and to provide them with suitable compensation for their crop losses.
