Ranchi is set to host Union Home Minister Amit Shah on July 10th for the Eastern Zonal Council meeting, taking place at Hotel Radisson Blu. The meeting, which will be chaired by Amit Shah, is being organized with full preparations by the state government. A review of these arrangements was conducted by Manoj Kejriwal, Joint Secretary of the Union Home Ministry, earlier this week, leading to adjustments in traffic management.
During the 27th meeting, the Jharkhand government will present its demands to the central government, focusing on financial dues, special grants, and the resumption of the SRE fund. Discussions will also address pending matters with Bihar and West Bengal, along with a review of the previous meeting’s progress.
Specific demands include the recovery of outstanding dues from coal companies, the Jal Jeevan Mission, and widow and old-age pensions. The state will also seek special central assistance for development projects in Naxal-affected areas and the re-establishment of the SRE fund in the affected districts. Discussions will also include property division with Bihar and water disputes with West Bengal.
The meeting will see participation from 68 individuals, including key figures from Jharkhand, Bihar, Odisha, and West Bengal. The Chief Ministers of Jharkhand and Odisha, along with ministers from the other states, will be in attendance.
