A district-wide special awareness campaign against illegal substances has been launched in East Singhbhum, following directives from the state government. The campaign commenced with Deputy Commissioner Karn Satyarthi’s inauguration of an awareness chariot at the Collectorate. The chariot’s purpose is to spread the anti-drug message across the district. It will visit various blocks, educating the public about the detrimental effects of narcotics. At the launch, the Deputy Commissioner led officials and staff in taking an anti-drug pledge. He highlighted that drug abuse harms an individual’s health, future, family, and the wider community, causing mental and physical problems. The Deputy Commissioner encouraged community involvement to foster a drug-free environment. He appealed to the public to actively participate in the campaign and educate others about the dangers of drug use. The district administration will use the campaign to promote awareness throughout the district, encouraging people to abstain from drugs. This special campaign, running from June 10 to June 26, 2025, will feature educational programs to inform the public about the adverse effects of drug addiction.
