A comprehensive awareness campaign against prohibited substances, organized by the state government, has commenced in East Singhbhum district. The Deputy Commissioner, Karn Satyarthi, launched the initiative by flagging off an awareness chariot from the Collectorate. The chariot’s journey across the district’s blocks aims to educate the public about the dangers associated with substance abuse. During the event, the Deputy Commissioner also led an anti-drug oath for all officials and staff at the Collectorate. He highlighted the widespread impact of addiction on an individual’s health, future, family, and community, noting the resulting mental and physical problems. The Deputy Commissioner encouraged all segments of society to join the campaign to build a drug-free society and appealed to citizens to actively participate and spread awareness. The district administration will leverage this campaign to disseminate the anti-drug message throughout the district and encourage everyone to avoid substance abuse. This special campaign, scheduled from June 10 to June 26, 2025, will include various awareness programs designed to educate the public about the harmful effects of drugs.
