A devastating road accident in Palamu, Jharkhand, claimed the lives of three laborers and left several others injured. The incident took place on the NH-98 four-lane road near Ramgarh, within the jurisdiction of the Chhatarpur police station. A pickup truck, bearing registration number BR 45 G 1364, carrying over 30 laborers from the Garhwa district, met with a fatal accident. The vehicle, allegedly driven under the influence of alcohol, veered off course and collided with the divider before overturning. The laborers were traveling to Karhagar village in Rohtas, Bihar, for agricultural work. Following the accident, local residents assisted in transporting the injured to a nearby hospital. However, critical patients were referred to Medininagar MMCH for further medical care. A power failure at the MMCH hampered medical efforts, as treatment was provided in the dark for a period of 40 minutes due to the lack of a generator operator. Police have initiated investigations.
