After making an early entry in Kerala, the monsoon took a brief pause but has now accelerated its progress. The southwest monsoon reached eastern Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan on Wednesday. This has triggered widespread rainfall across more than 20 states, encompassing the northeast, central, eastern, western, and southern parts of India. The next few days could bring intense rainfall to many areas.
Pre-monsoon showers are already affecting several states, including Delhi-NCR. The monsoon is projected to arrive in Delhi-NCR between June 20th and 23rd. The city will likely see cloudy skies and moderate rain today, with the wet weather persisting until June 25th. Thunderstorms and lightning are also a possibility.
