The formation of the Displaced Persons Commission awaits cabinet approval, according to Minister Deepak Birua. He confirmed that the necessary procedures have been completed. Birua addressed the matter during the monsoon session, responding to questions from MLA Jayram Mahato. Mahato criticized the government for failing to resolve the issues faced by displaced individuals, alleging that the government’s actions have not matched its words. He highlighted the previous promise of establishing the commission within three months, which has yet to be fulfilled. The minister reiterated that the commission’s establishment will be expedited once the cabinet gives its consent.
