In a significant step towards empowering persons with disabilities, a comprehensive cluster-level awareness and training program was held at the Dhadadangal Panchayat Bhavan in Kathikund block, supported by the Birsa Divyang Samiti. The event delved into the rights and crucial social security schemes available to the Divyangjan community. Priyatam Kumar Singh, the Samiti’s Treasurer and Director, chaired the proceedings. The program was graced by Dinesh Soren, the Mukhiya of Dhadadangal Panchayat, and Dr. Jitendra Kumar, a Senior Program Officer from Sight Savers India Bihar, who attended as esteemed chief guests. Special guests included Ajit Pathak, a Special Educator from Dumka block, along with Nitesh Kumar (President), Sikki Kumari (Secretary), Upendra Rai (Accountant) from the Samiti, and Vivek Kumar Singh, proprietor of Tanya Computer Center. Attendees also included members from Sight Savers India Bihar and Pragati Divyangjan Seva Samiti. The Samiti expressed its gratitude by presenting angavastrams to all distinguished guests. A valuable exposure visit allowed participants to observe the impactful work of the Birsa Divyang Samiti in supporting Divyangjan welfare. Ajit Pathak delivered an informative training session for 95 individuals from Dhadadangal and Jhikra Panchayats.
