Ranchi is hosting the Eastern Zonal Council meeting today, presided over by Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Shah landed in Ranchi late on Wednesday night. He was greeted with a traditional welcome upon arrival. Among those present were Babulal Marandi, Raghuvar Das, and Arjun Munda.
The meeting is set to begin at 10:30 AM at Hotel Radisson Blu. Chief Minister Hemant Soren, along with Odisha CM Mohan Charan Majhi, Bihar’s Deputy CM Samrat Chaudhary, and Water Resources Minister Vijay Chaudhary, are also in Ranchi for the event. A total of 70 people are expected to participate in the meeting.
CM Hemant Soren plans to request a special package for Jharkhand and seek the outstanding dues of Rs 1.36 lakh crore from coal companies. Ministers Radhakrishna Kishore and Deepak Biruva will be supporting him. The Eastern Zonal Council meeting will discuss 20 critical issues. Amit Shah is scheduled to return to Delhi this evening after the meeting.
