The political landscape of Jharkhand is marred by alleged threats and accusations, with former MLA Amba Prasad at the center of the controversy. The Congress leader, who also serves as the National Secretary of the party, held a press conference where she voiced serious concerns regarding her safety and the actions of the state government.
Prasad stated that she is facing threats from the brother of a BJP MP from Andhra Pradesh, who owns a mining company (Ritwik) in her constituency of Barkagaon. She claimed the company is involved in illegal mining activities.
She further alleged that the local administration is complicit, providing protection to the company. Prasad claims that instead of addressing the illegal mining, authorities are harassing her, her family members (including her father and mother, both former MLAs), and her security personnel. She cited the case of Surya Hansda’s alleged encounter in Godda, expressing fear for her own safety and raising concerns about a potential conspiracy against her. She also stated that the police sent 400 police personnel to her house as instructed by the company and arrested her driver’s private guard.
