Jayant Kumar Singh has been arrested by the police from the Sarnath area of Varanasi, accused of threatening Dr. Irfan Ansari, the Health Minister of Jharkhand. The mobile phone used in the threatening calls has also been seized. Singh, the individual accused of threatening the Jharkhand Health Minister, is a student pursuing his MBBS degree.
Following the threats made against Jharkhand’s Health Minister, Dr. Irfan Ansari, an FIR was lodged on Monday at the Steel City police station in the Bokaro district.
The complaint stated that Health Minister Dr. Irfan Ansari received several calls from the same number, with the caller issuing threats to harm and even kill him. After the case was registered, the Jharkhand Police began tracing the mobile number used to make the threatening calls to Dr. Irfan Ansari. However, the accused, Jayant Kumar Singh, was consistently changing his location.
Reports indicate that the Jharkhand Police, with the assistance of the Sarnath police in Uttar Pradesh, apprehended the accused, Jayant Kumar, on Thursday while he was attempting to escape towards Ghazipur. During this operation, the police successfully captured Jayant Kumar Singh, who had been threatening the Health Minister of Jharkhand, Dr. Irfan Ansari.
The mobile phone used to make the threats has also been recovered. The accused reportedly evaded the police repeatedly and aimed to flee to Ghazipur. Based on his mobile location, the Jharkhand Police, in collaboration with the Sarnath Police, intercepted him near Audihar at a bus stop and took him into custody. The accused, Jayant Kumar Singh, who is alleged to have threatened Minister Dr. Irfan Ansari, possesses an MBBS degree and was preparing for a master’s degree in medicine. He also owns a residence in Shillong, Meghalaya.
