Koderma became a vibrant hub of national integration as the “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat – 1/25” National Camp culminated in a spectacular cultural display. Spearheaded by the Bihar and Jharkhand NCC Directorate and under the leadership of Group Commander Brigadier S. Gopi Krishnan (SM) and Commanding Officer Colonel Vijay Kumar (SM), the event celebrated India’s diverse heritage. The 11th day was marked by an impressive cultural program, inaugurated by Mrs. Manoj Thakur, Head of Project at Koderma Thermal Power Station, with the traditional lighting of a lamp.
This significant camp hosted 601 NCC cadets hailing from Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, West Bengal, Bihar, and Jharkhand. Their performances were a powerful testament to India’s unity in diversity, fostering a sense of national solidarity and showcasing the confidence of young Indians. Brigadier Abhijit Sharma, Deputy Director General NCC of the Bihar-Jharkhand Directorate, graced the occasion as the chief guest. He commended the cadets for their commitment and discipline, stating, “The unity within India’s diversity is its greatest asset, and the NCC plays a crucial role in preserving this spirit.”
Notable guests present included Brigadier S. Gopi Krishnan (SM), Camp Commandant; Manoj Thakur, KTPS Project Head; Sukhmoy Nayak, Deputy General Manager (HR), KTPS; Dr. Ayodhya Kumar, Principal of Government Polytechnic Koderma; and Lemanshu Kumar, City Manager of Jhumri Tilaiya Municipality. Each of these dignitaries was presented with a memento by the chief guest.
Cadets enthralled the audience with a variety of performances, including group songs, dances, and solo vocal renditions. These acts vividly portrayed the folk traditions and patriotic fervor of different Indian states, creating an atmosphere of joy, harmony, and national pride. Brigadier Abhijit Sharma recognized the exceptional talents of the cadets and the dedicated instructors by awarding them with mementos, trophies, and medals. The camp leadership, represented by Brigadier S. Gopi Krishnan and Colonel Vijay Kumar, also honored the chief guest with a memento.
Adding to the cultural richness, renowned Jhumri Tilaiya singer Naveen Jain Pandey delivered a soul-stirring performance of regional and patriotic songs, receiving a memento from Brigadier Abhijit Sharma. Colonel Vijay Kumar, on behalf of the 45 Jharkhand Battalion, also honored Ajay Agarwal (Chlorophyll School Director), Dilip Singh (District PRO), Vikas Kumar Seth, and Ajit Kumar with mementos.
Lieutenant Santosh Kumar, the camp’s Nodal Officer, expressed sincere gratitude to all collaborators. He particularly thanked the Jhumri Tilaiya Municipality for maintaining excellent sanitation and Koderma Thermal Power Station for organizing an educational tour for the cadets. Appreciation was also extended to the permanent instructors, officers, and staff of the 45 Jharkhand Battalion.
The “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat – 1/25” National Camp successfully embodied the ideals of cultural harmony, leadership, discipline, and national unity. The active participation of 601 cadets underscored the vital role of youth in building a stronger and unified India.
