In Koderma, during the ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ national camp, 601 NCC cadets from diverse states had an impactful session focusing on the courage displayed during the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks. The camp, hosted at Sainik School Tilaiya and organized under the Bihar and Jharkhand Directorate, saw cadets from Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, West Bengal, Bihar, and Jharkhand engage in physical drills and various integrated activities. The event is being meticulously led by Brigadier S. Gopi Krishnan and Commanding Officer Vijay Kumar (Sena Medal) of the 45 Jharkhand Battalion NCC.
Colonel Sanjay Kandwal (Sena Medal), a distinguished officer from the 36 Jharkhand Battalion, delivered a powerful motivational address. His talk, centered on the theme ‘Nation First, Self Later,’ delved into the harrowing events of the 26/11 attacks on iconic Mumbai landmarks. He lauded the swift and decisive actions of the National Security Guards in combating terrorism and safeguarding innocent lives. Colonel Kandwal’s personal involvement in the anti-terror operations earned him the prestigious Sena Medal from the President of India for his immense bravery and commitment. His presentation on the challenging ‘Black Tornado’ operation provided cadets with a vivid understanding of the sacrifices made and the complexities involved, fostering national pride.
Commanding Officer Vijay Kumar (Sena Medal) felicitated Colonel Kandwal with a memento for his invaluable contribution to the camp’s educational objectives. The day’s agenda also included a National Integration Awareness Program, organized by Second Officer Abhijit Anand, Third Officer Naveen Choudhary, and Lieutenant Alice Minz. Competitive spirit was high with the finals of inter-group volleyball and Kho-Kho tournaments. Meanwhile, vibrant cultural preparations, including group and solo performances, poster art, and Rangoli designs, are in full swing under the supervision of Abhijit Anand, Shivani Sharma, and other participating NCC officers.
