Security forces in Jharkhand successfully neutralized a Maoist plot by recovering 18 IEDs during a search operation. The operation focused on the border region of West Singhbhum and Khunti districts, near Kochang. The IEDs, each weighing around three kilograms, were discovered and safely detonated by a bomb disposal squad.
The search operation was launched following intelligence received by the West Singhbhum Superintendent of Police. The information suggested that the banned CPI (Maoist) organization had planted explosives with the intent to harm security forces. Joint teams comprising the Chaibasa Police, Khunti Police, Jharkhand Jaguar, and CRPF were involved in the operation. The authorities are actively pursuing top Maoist leaders who are believed to be operating in the Saranda/Kolhan area. These include figures like Misir Besra, Anmol, and others, who are known for their subversive activities.
