India’s External Affairs Minister, S. Jaishankar, is set to visit France and Belgium from June 8th to 14th. The visit aims to reinforce bilateral relationships and emphasize India’s zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism. The schedule includes meetings with the foreign ministers of France and Belgium, as well as a strategic dialogue with EU Foreign and Security Policy Chief Kaja Kallas. Jaishankar’s itinerary includes Paris and Marseille, where he will meet with French Foreign Minister Jean Noel Barrot and address the Mediterranean Raisina Dialogue. He will also discuss strategic issues with French think tanks. These engagements provide an opportunity to discuss India’s counter-terrorism efforts. In Brussels, Jaishankar will hold talks with Kaja Kallas and engage with key figures in the European Commission and Parliament. Discussions will cover areas of collaboration, building upon the momentum of the EU’s recent visit to New Delhi. Jaishankar will also meet with Belgian Foreign Minister Maxime Prevot and other senior Belgian leaders. The visit is seen as a chance to further develop India’s relationships with the EU, France, and Belgium, and expand collaboration across sectors like trade, investment, and technology.
