A harrowing experience aboard an Air India Express flight has led to strong criticism from a Jaipur resident, Aarzoo Sethi. Sethi, a dietitian and nutrition consultant, described a flight from Jaipur to Dubai, IX196, as a nightmare. Passengers were allegedly forced to endure over five hours inside the grounded aircraft without air conditioning, proper updates, or any meaningful interaction from the crew.
Sethi’s viral Instagram video presents a scene of palpable discomfort, with passengers visibly agitated. The video shows passengers fanning themselves and pressing the call buttons without receiving a response. Her video specifically highlighted the distress of a young child. “This is my 3-year-old son, drenched in sweat,” she stated.
Further questioning the airline’s failure to provide information or assistance, Sethi asked, “Even if it’s a technical fault, where is the basic communication? Where is the accountability?” She highlighted the lack of acknowledgement or assistance, even as people were clearly struggling.
In the video’s caption, Sethi stated, that they were stuck in the plane with ‘no AC, no communication, and zero assistance from the crew.’ Sethi has called for the airline to acknowledge the incident and address the situation, labeling it as a “serious safety lapse.”
As of now, Air India Express has not released an official response.
