On International Yoga Day, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma attended a yoga event in Jaisalmer, praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s efforts in popularizing yoga worldwide. Sharma highlighted the significance of the ‘Yoga for One Earth, One Health’ theme, emphasizing the interconnectedness of humans and the environment. He explained that yoga fosters harmony between people and nature, providing a holistic approach to health. The Chief Minister mentioned the Rajasthan government’s commitment to enhancing both individual and environmental well-being. Sharma described yoga as a gift from Indian civilization, a comprehensive lifestyle that unites the body, mind, intellect, and soul. He underscored yoga’s role in guiding individuals through challenges such as stress and pollution. He also pointed out that yoga has always been a part of India’s ancient culture, with Lord Shiva as the first teacher and sages like Maharishi Patanjali establishing yoga as a knowledge tradition. Sharma acknowledged PM Modi’s role in making June 21 International Yoga Day a global event, due to his initiative at the UN. The Chief Minister commended PM Modi for spreading Indian cultural values globally and highlighted projects like the Ram Temple and the Kashi Vishwanath corridor. The Rajasthan government is also working to develop significant religious sites. Sharma concluded that under PM Modi’s leadership, India has become a spiritual, economic, and military power, referencing Operation Sindoor and plans to divert water from the Indus and Chenab rivers.
