Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s upcoming visits to Bihar and West Bengal mark the commencement of several large-scale development projects. Bihar will see the unveiling of projects worth over Rs 7,200 crore, encompassing Software Technology Parks, new Amrit Bharat trains, and road improvements. In West Bengal, investments exceeding Rs 5,000 crore will be made, targeting sectors such as oil and gas, power, railways, and road infrastructure. The rail projects include enhancements to the Samastipur-Bachhwara line, the Darbhanga-Thalwara and Samastipur-Rambhadrapur doubling, and upgrades for Vande Bharat train maintenance. Road projects involve the Ara bypass four-laning and the Parariya to Mohania section. The IT sector will benefit from new STPI facilities in Darbhanga and Patna. Bihar will also see the launch of fisheries development projects under the PMMSY scheme, along with the flagging off of four new Amrit Bharat trains. Funding will be released for Self-Help Groups and beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana-Gramin. West Bengal’s projects include a BPCL City Gas Distribution project in Bankura and Purulia, the Durgapur-Kolkata natural gas pipeline, and pollution control system upgrades for thermal power stations. Additionally, the Purulia – Kotshila Rail Line will be doubled, and road over bridges will be inaugurated as part of the Setu Bharatam Programme.
