Lieutenant General Manoj Katiyar, the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Western Command, declared that India’s retaliation against any future terrorist attacks by Pakistan or its proxies would be more forceful than before. He emphasized that ‘Operation Sindoor’ is ongoing and is not just a battle but also a preparation to counter any hostile actions from Pakistan. During the diamond jubilee celebrations of the 1965 India-Pakistan war victory, Lieutenant General Katiyar noted the calm situation on the ground following the May 10 ceasefire. He hoped that Pakistan would refrain from any further provocations. He stated that there is no alternative but to give a strong response. He emphasized that the aim of the Pahalgam terrorist attack was to disrupt peace in Jammu and Kashmir, and also to incite communal tensions in India. He asserted that the neighboring country would continue to try and undermine India’s secular fabric.
