At the ET World Leaders Forum 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi articulated his vision for India’s global standing and unveiled key advancements in technology and economic development. A major announcement was the impending launch of the first Made-in-India semiconductor chip by the end of 2025. Modi asserted that India possesses the strength to influence the direction of global trends, moving beyond incremental progress to drive substantial change. He underscored the nation’s ability to set a new course for the times. Addressing the forum, Modi highlighted the strides made over the past 11 years and discussed upcoming initiatives, advocating for growth in emerging sectors. India is set to achieve a significant milestone, exporting electric vehicles to 100 nations. He emphasized that research and innovation are the cornerstones of India’s advancement, promoting indigenous research capabilities. The government has been fostering research through supportive policies and the creation of new platforms. Despite the economic challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, India has maintained a strong economic base, with projections indicating a fiscal deficit of 4.4 percent. Modi also mentioned rapid progress in the development of Made-in-India 6G technology. He noted India’s pursuit of transformative goals, including the completion of over 60 space missions in the last decade and the ongoing preparations for the Gaganyaan mission, which will send Indian astronauts into space.
