In Moscow on August 7, NSA Ajit Doval and Russia’s Secretary of the Security Council Sergey Shoigu held discussions aimed at bolstering the strategic partnership between India and Russia. The Russian Embassy in India announced the meeting on social media, emphasizing the focus on strengthening the special and privileged strategic partnership. Before the meeting, President Vladimir Putin met with Doval at the Kremlin, as noted by the Russian Embassy in India. Discussions also included the upcoming visit of President Putin to India, with dates currently being finalized. Doval highlighted the special, enduring relationship between the two nations, emphasizing the value of their strategic partnership. He added that summit meetings have always been a key point in the relationship. Last year in July, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Putin acknowledged the unique nature of their relationship, which is built on trust, mutual understanding, and strategic convergence. The countries have a multifaceted and mutually beneficial relationship that includes political, strategic, military, security, trade, investment, energy, science, technology, nuclear, space, cultural, educational, and humanitarian cooperation. Both nations are actively exploring new areas of cooperation and reinforcing existing collaborations. The India-Russia Working Group on Modernization and Industrial Cooperation held its 11th Session in the national capital on Wednesday, under the India-Russia Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technological and Cultural Cooperation framework.
