Wednesday, June 25, 2025, brought a pleasant, overcast sky to North India, with the IMD predicting persistent rainfall until the weekend. The IMD has issued warnings for torrential rains and thunderstorms across numerous areas in Northeast India over the next week.
The weather agency anticipates heavy rainfall in Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, and Chhattisgarh from the 25th to the 28th of June; Vidarbha on the 25th; Gangetic West Bengal from the 25th to the 27th; Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim on the 25th, 28th, and 29th; Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, West Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan from the 25th to the 30th; Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh from the 25th to the 27th; East Uttar Pradesh from the 27th to the 30th; and Uttarakhand from the 25th to the 27th. Further predictions include heavy rainfall in West Rajasthan on the 27th, East Rajasthan on the 27th, Haryana and Punjab on the 25th and 26th, and West Uttar Pradesh on the 25th and 27th.
Starting today, the monsoon is expected to impact regions of Konkan, Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, and Gujarat, potentially lasting until June 29, 2025. According to the IMD, the Southwest monsoon has advanced over the remaining areas of the north Arabian Sea, expanding to include parts of West Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Chandigarh, the rest of Himachal Pradesh and Jammu, and more of Punjab.
