The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has announced predictions of significant rainfall across various regions of India. The monsoon is expected to intensify, bringing heavy to very heavy rainfall to multiple states. The IMD suggests the monsoon’s pace will likely accelerate in different parts of the country in the upcoming period. Heavy rainfall is particularly anticipated in Northwest, Central, East, and Northeast India over the next week.
Northwest India can expect light to moderate rainfall throughout the week, often coupled with thunderstorms, lightning, and brisk winds ranging from 30 to 40 kmph.
Between July 1 and July 4, areas in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, and Odisha in East and Central India are likely to experience heavy rainfall. The Vidarbha region is also expected to have heavy rainfall on July 1 and 2. Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim are predicted to see intensified rainfall on June 28 and again between July 1 and 2.
Gangetic-West Bengal is expected to experience heavy rainfall until July 1, with similar weather patterns potentially emerging in Bihar between July 1 and 4.
