The India Meteorological Department (IMD) is tracking increased rainfall activity as the monsoon season advances. The IMD has predicted isolated heavy showers in Northwest India from June 25th onwards. A warning has been issued for intense rain across Central, East, and Northeast India for the next seven days.
As stated in the latest IMD press release, West Madhya Pradesh will see heavy rainfall today. Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, and Chhattisgarh will receive rain from June 23rd to 27th. Residents in Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, and Arunachal Pradesh should take precautions due to potential traffic disruptions and flooding.
The monsoon is also anticipated to impact Konkan, Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, and Gujarat, starting today and likely continuing until June 29, 2025. The IMD also indicates that conditions are favorable for the southwest monsoon to advance into the remaining parts of Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and Delhi. Delhi is likely to experience the monsoon by June 30th.
Isolated heavy rainfall warnings are also in effect for Jammu-Kashmir, Ladakh, and Haryana (June 25-27), Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, West Uttar Pradesh, and East Rajasthan (June 24-29), West Rajasthan (June 24-25), East Uttar Pradesh (June 24, 28, and 29), Kerala and Karnataka (June 24-27), and Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam (June 27-28).
