A resident of Bihar is in custody facing charges of domestic violence and physical assault after his wife reported a series of violent acts. The woman claims her husband, Shatrughan Rai, subjected her to extreme cruelty, including forcing her to swallow chili powder, burning her skin with a hot iron, and attempting to electrocute her. She was held captive for two days without sustenance before being rescued. Medical professionals at the Paroo Primary Health Centre (PHC) and SKMCH are providing care. The victim has filed an FIR naming her husband and other family members, with police actively working to apprehend the remaining suspects.
