The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) will be relocated to the new Executive Enclave next month, a move initiated under the Central Vista project. The new enclave, designed to accommodate high-level government departments, is situated near the existing complex and includes the Cabinet Secretariat, the National Security Council Secretariat, and a conference facility. The new PMO will also be conveniently located near the Prime Minister’s residence. The decision to relocate stems from the constraints of the old buildings, which were constructed during British rule and lack modern amenities. The Prime Minister emphasized the limitations of the old buildings during the inauguration of Kartavya Bhawan-3, which now houses the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Ministry of Personnel. The new PMO may be given a new name, aligned with the Central Vista project’s renaming initiatives. The Prime Minister has underscored his vision of the PMO as a center for public service. With the relocation of key government offices, the North and South Blocks will be converted into a public museum, the Yuge Yugen Bharat Museum. This museum, developed in partnership with France Museums Development, will showcase India’s rich cultural heritage, aiming to provide insights into the past, present, and future.
