Violence erupted in Mundaka village, Haryana, following a dispute between two individuals, quickly escalating into communal clashes. The incident began when an argument over a parked vehicle led to a physical confrontation between two individuals from different communities. The initial altercation involved a vehicle parked on the road by the son of Isra, a resident of Rajasthan. When Samey Singh, a local resident, requested the vehicle be moved, he was reportedly attacked. The situation quickly escalated, with supporters from both sides gathering and engaging in stone-pelting. Shops and motorcycles were set ablaze amidst the chaos. Isra’s granddaughter described how a minor argument quickly took on a communal dimension, leading to the destruction of their shops and a motorcycle. She also reported that their home was attacked. CCTV footage has been reviewed by authorities. Police have arrested a number of individuals and are investigating the incident. The village Sarpanch claims the family of Isra had a grudge from the 2023 violence at the Nallhar temple. It is claimed the attack on Samey Singh was planned, with a mosque issuing announcements calling for people to gather. This resulted in arson and clashes. The police have detained some individuals, while others have fled. The village is in a state of fear and seeks increased security, including a police post.
