Gangster Anmol Bishnoi, sought by Indian authorities for his alleged role in the murder of NCP leader Baba Siddiqui and other criminal activities, is scheduled to arrive in India tomorrow, Wednesday. His extradition from the United States marks a significant development in ongoing investigations. Bishnoi is part of a group of 199 deportees arriving on a flight expected at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport.
Anmol Bishnoi, the younger brother of imprisoned gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, faces charges in several high-profile cases. These include the assassination of Baba Siddiqui and a shooting incident targeting actor Salman Khan’s home in April 2024. Authorities believe Bishnoi absconded from India in April 2022, utilizing a fake passport, just weeks before the tragic death of singer Sidhu Moosewala.
The extradition process was a complex, multi-agency undertaking. The Mumbai Police had formally requested Bishnoi’s return. His custody upon arrival will be determined by the Union government, considering the multiple cases registered against him in different states. Bishnoi had previously been detained in Canada and the United States, highlighting his international movements. The National Investigation Agency had previously offered a substantial reward for information leading to his capture.
The investigation into the murder of Baba Siddiqui and the Sidhu Moosewala killing has pointed towards Anmol Bishnoi’s involvement. Zeeshan Siddique, son of Baba Siddiqui, stated that confirmation of Bishnoi’s removal from the US indicates he will now face justice in India. Baba Siddiqui was killed in October 2024, and subsequent police action led to the arrest of several individuals associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi syndicate. The Mumbai Police applied stringent charges, including MCOCA, with Anmol Bishnoi listed among the wanted suspects.
