The FNG expressway project, connecting Faridabad, Noida, and Ghaziabad, is finally gaining traction after being stalled for 13 years. The Noida Authority and the PWD are actively engaged in discussions to address the project’s pending issues and facilitate its progress. This 56-kilometer expressway, with Noida responsible for 23 kilometers, aims to improve intercity travel. The authorities are considering revisions to the implementation plan. A new DPR outlines potential alignments for the remaining segments, with the final route pending approval. A key component of the project is a six-lane bridge over the Yamuna River, connecting Noida and Faridabad. This bridge, estimated at Rs 200 crore, will be funded jointly by Haryana and Uttar Pradesh. Noida is also planning an elevated road and two underpasses to further enhance connectivity, benefiting numerous sectors, industries and helping to alleviate traffic congestion in the NCR region.
