Tragedy struck Ferozepur, Punjab, on Saturday evening with the daylight murder of Naveen Arora, a 32-year-old shopkeeper. Arora was shot dead by two unknown individuals riding a motorcycle. The incident took place as Arora was en route from his shop to his residence, located near the Dr Sadhu Chand Chowk area. Reports indicate that the assailants rode up to him, fired indiscriminately from a close distance, and then sped away. The attack has sent ripples of fear through the local populace.
Naveen Arora was rushed to a nearby private hospital following the shooting, but sadly, he could not be saved. Doctors confirmed his death shortly after his arrival. The identity and whereabouts of the attackers are currently unknown, and the investigation is ongoing. Authorities are working diligently to piece together the events leading up to the murder.
The Ferozepur police, led by SSP Bhupinder Singh, are leaving no stone unturned in their pursuit of the culprits. The SSP confirmed that surveillance footage from cameras in the surrounding areas is being meticulously examined to aid in the identification process. He expressed confidence that the investigation will yield results and that justice will be served. The police department has mobilized resources, including multiple police officers and supervisory staff, to expedite the investigation and ensure the swift arrest of those involved. The Member of Legislative Assembly for Ferozepur (Urban), Ranbir Singh Bhullar, has also engaged with the victim’s family, offering support and pledging stringent action against the perpetrators.
