Travelers can now enjoy a drastically reduced travel time between Delhi and Jaipur, thanks to a newly opened section of the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway. The Bandikui-Jaipur spur, spanning 66.9 km, has slashed travel time to around three hours. Following a trial launch on July 2, the NHAI provided toll-free travel. The route connects Bandikui in the Dausa district with Jaipur, offering a quicker alternative to the often-congested NH-48 and NH-21. Tolls for this route are expected to range between Rs 600 and Rs 690. Before full commercial operation, the NHAI will perform a forensic safety audit and final inspection. The spur cost approximately Rs 1,368 crore to construct and incorporates interchanges like Khuri to ensure smooth traffic flow. During the trial, vehicles can travel at speeds up to 120 kmph. The expressway will lead to reduced travel times, fuel savings, and lower transportation costs. The trip from Bandikui to Jaipur now takes only 30 minutes, while the entire Delhi to Jaipur journey is estimated to be completed in 2.5 to 3 hours, based on traffic.
