Just a day after announcing her departure from the political arena and the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), Rohini Acharya has come forward with grave allegations of mistreatment. Acharya, a former RJD contender for the Saran seat, shared on X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday that she endured verbal assaults and even threats of physical harm. She described a deeply humiliating experience where she was subjected to ‘filthy abuses’ and had a slipper brandished at her. Acharya posited that this mistreatment stemmed from her unwavering stance on truth and self-respect, which led to her suffering ‘this insult.’ The emotional toll was evident as she spoke of leaving behind her ‘crying parents and sisters,’ feeling as though she was ‘forced out’ of her family home. She lamented feeling ‘orphaned’ by their actions. In a separate post, Acharya directly addressed accusations suggesting her father’s kidney transplant was a transaction for personal gain. She revealed being called ‘dirty’ and accused of obtaining ‘crores of rupees’ in exchange for the kidney donation, which she allegedly used to secure a political ticket. She directed a pointed message to married women, advising them against relying on their brothers when a father needs a transplant, urging them to ensure their brothers procure their own or a friend’s kidney. Acharya’s public statements follow her Saturday announcement to quit politics and ‘disown’ her family, citing demands made by Sanjay Yadav and Rameez. When questioned by reporters, she pointed fingers at Tejashwi Yadav, Sanjay Yadav, and Rameez, asserting they were responsible for her ostracization and the party’s electoral downfall.
