Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, speaking at a felicitation event in Dehradun, pledged to establish a corruption-free Uttarakhand. The event was organized by various religious and social organizations in Balliwala. Dhami led attendees in taking an oath to uphold this commitment. He highlighted the initiatives taken to curb corruption and underlined the significance of public support in this mission. The Chief Minister framed the ceremony as a celebration of the aspiration to build a corruption-free Uttarakhand, applauding the 1.25 crore residents of the state who are striving for progress based on values of integrity and openness. The government has focused on leveraging technology for transparency, incorporating measures such as online transfers and the CM Helpline 1905 for overseeing the examination process and resolving public complaints, and 1064 for reporting corruption. The government has taken stern measures in cases of recruitment exam discrepancies, corruption in postings and transfers, and scheme-related corruption. Over 200 people involved in corruption have been imprisoned in the last three years, and more than 24,000 people have secured government employment in the previous four years. The government has reinforced the governance framework through the Uniform Civil Code, strict anti-copying laws, measures against land and love jihad, and through anti-conversion and anti-riot laws. ‘Operation Kalanemi’ is being run to unmask impersonators in the state, leading to the arrest of over 200 suspects, including some Bangladeshi infiltrators. He called on the public to promptly report any suspicious activity to the authorities. The Chief Minister asserted the government’s dedication to building a transparent, accountable, and public welfare system, reflecting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s principle of “Na khaunga, na khane doonga”.
