Shocking CCTV footage emerging from the Delhi Red Fort Metro Station provides chilling evidence of the power behind Monday’s deadly car blast. The visuals, recorded deep underground, demonstrate that the explosion’s force propagated a staggering 40 feet downwards. Passengers and station infrastructure, including flooring and shop fittings, were violently disturbed, highlighting the extreme intensity of the blast. Tragically, 13 people lost their lives in this attack.
Investigators have pieced together a disturbing plot involving a highly organized terror network that intended to deploy multiple explosive-laden vehicles. It has been revealed that three car bombs were prepared: the Hyundai i20 that detonated, a Ford EcoSport found in Faridabad, and a third vehicle still at large. The recovered Ford EcoSport led to the detention of an individual who had parked it in a village near Faridabad.
The probe has led to the apprehension of eight suspects, with alleged ties to militant groups like JeM and Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind. Notably, three doctors from Al-Falah University are among those arrested. A massive quantity of explosives, weighing 2,900 kg, along with chemicals and detonating components, were recovered. Authorities are maintaining a state of high alert and are actively searching for the missing third car.
