The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned of heavy rain in the Delhi-NCR region, including Noida, Gurugram, and Ghaziabad, as monsoon rains persist in North India. Today’s weather predictions for Delhi indicate the possibility of heavy downpours.
Gurugram is facing severe waterlogging and traffic congestion caused by intense rainfall, with traffic jams spanning several kilometers. The District Disaster Management Authority has put an orange alert in place, suggesting the closure of schools, colleges, and offices, and encouraging work-from-home arrangements.
Noida and Ghaziabad are also affected by heavy rainfall today. The weather advisory has been broadened to include Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand, where a red alert has been issued due to the risk of very heavy rainfall and flash floods. Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir are currently under an orange alert. Considering the weather situation, schools and offices in the affected areas may remain closed today for safety concerns.
