Tragedy has struck the family of pan masala magnate Kamal Kishore Chaurasia, with his daughter-in-law, Deepti Chaurasia, found dead at their South Delhi residence. The 40-year-old was discovered on Tuesday afternoon in Vasant Vihar, and authorities are investigating the incident as a potential suicide. The initial assessment points towards death by hanging.
Sources indicate that Deepti, married to Harpreet Chaurasia (son of Kamal Kishore), was found by her husband, who then rushed her to Safdarjung Hospital. Doctors at the hospital declared her deceased. The couple has a teenage son.
Authorities have recovered a note from the deceased’s room, which reportedly states that she does not blame anyone for her demise. Reports quote the note as saying, “If there is no love and trust in a relationship, what is the point of life?” Investigators are exploring whether domestic or family-related tensions might have contributed to the situation.
The exact cause of death will be confirmed following a post-mortem examination at Safdarjung Hospital. Police have not issued a formal statement yet, but an inquiry into the matter is in progress. Kamal Kishore Chaurasia is widely recognized for his involvement in the Kamla Pasand and Rajshree pan masala brands, a business empire he built over several decades.
