The Jammu and Kashmir Police are actively engaged in an operation targeting terrorism, with searches being carried out in several areas, including Srinagar. The Counter-Intelligence Wing of the police is leading these operations. According to officials, the Counter Intelligence Kashmir (CIK) is conducting raids at eight different locations within the valley as part of an ongoing investigation. The districts affected by these raids include Srinagar, Baramulla, Anantnag, Kupwara, Handwara, Pulwama, and Shopian. The raids are based on warrants issued by a court, related to FIR number 3/2023.
These actions follow a pattern of previous operations by the Counter-Intelligence Wing. In July, multiple locations were simultaneously searched. For some time now, the army and police in Jammu and Kashmir have focused on weakening terrorist infrastructure. Numerous search operations and attempts at infiltration have been stopped across different regions in the valley.
The police are working to determine the contacts of the individuals and are basing the raids on their activities. Earlier raids had revealed connections to terrorists affiliated with Lashkar-e-Taiba/Jaish-e-Mohammed, including Abdullah Ghazi.
In a separate incident, the Udhampur police conducted a raid on a spa center. During the raid, numerous men and women were detained. The raid took place at a spa center in the Badia area of Ward Number 5 in Udhampur. The operation lasted about four hours and involved a large number of police officers and senior officials. The police have launched a comprehensive investigation. The local residents have shown support for the police’s action.
